Acoustic panels enhance the learning environment

Project:

Since 2020, Funder-Kragelund School has undergone a major modernization, including both renovation and new construction. In the school’s central subject hub – which serves as a gathering point – acoustics play a crucial role.

Solution:

To ensure the best possible conditions, acoustic panels with the new beige felt from I-Wood Denmark® have been installed. The solution creates a learning environment with optimal acoustics, where reverberation time is reduced, noise levels are lowered, and speech intelligibility is improved – all key factors that support effective learning and clear communication.

“We have, from the beginning, focused on the project’s sustainable energy concept, including the use of daylight, acoustics, and ventilation, which is reflected in the architectural framework. The choice of materials, both exterior and interior, is based on well-tested and traditional solutions. The acoustic panels from I-Wood Denmark® help ensure healthy and future-proof learning environments. With their long lifespan and low maintenance, they contribute to an optimal indoor acoustic climate where both social interaction and learning activities can thrive without disruptive noise.”
– Julie Ankjær, Creative Director, Partner & Architect, Skala Architecture
“In the project at Funder-Kragelund School, our acoustic panels combine effective noise reduction and aesthetic design to create a calm and pleasant sound environment that supports concentration and communication. We are very pleased to contribute to an inviting and functional learning environment for both students and teachers.” – Casper Krogh Olesen, CEO, I-Wood Denmark®

I-Wood Denmark® brings nature inside with light tones

At Funder-Kragelund School, the modernization of both renovation and new construction has focused on materials that create a balanced and natural unity throughout the department. With I-Wood Denmark®’s acoustic panels featuring beige felt, a solution has been created that connects the outdoors with the indoors and merges aesthetics with functionality. The result is learning environments where form and function go hand in hand, supporting the school’s vision of a harmonious and inspiring atmosphere.

“To create vibrant architecture and cohesive projects, it all starts with the choice of materials. The acoustic panels from I-Wood Denmark® harmonize beautifully with the architectural framework set for Funder-Kragelund School. The light tones, together with the wood, create a calm, warm, and welcoming atmosphere that contributes to a motivating and flexible learning landscape.”
